6 Month check up

Brady had his 6 month well visit today with Dr. Crummer. We walked in and he was weighed and measured with the nurse and she left. Well after waiting for about 30 minutes the doctor finally walked in and as soon as he did, Brady started screaming bloody murder!!! So of course the doctor had to explain to me that now that Brady is 6 months old, he will begin to develop stranger anxiety. DUH!! was all I was thinking...lol.

Anyway, as soon as the doctor walked out of the room and the nurse walked in, he smiled and cheered up. He's definetly a ladies man because he absolutely loved the nurse and was flirting with her the whole time.:)

All in all Brady is doing well and reaching all of his milestones. I am super excited to see what the next month brings and am excited to meet my friends new baby next month. It has been a very busy six months but there is no way I would ever change it.

I am extremely lucky to have Danny and Brady in my life. Brady puts a smile on my face everytime I look at him. Not only was it a miracle to get pregnant, but our life with him is a miracle as well. I feel like the luckiest woman alive!!!

I am missing my dad a lot these days. I wish that he lived closer so that we can see him and the kids more often and that he could see how much Brady has grown. I have discovered the greatness of Skype and have done this with my dad a few times. It allows us to talk face to face and the Stockton clan can get a glimpse of Brady too.

I hope this blog finds everyone well and I'm hoping to have a fun and full summer. Good health and love to everyone!! Lets keep in touch.

Oh P.S.~ Brady is 16lbs 27in long. Tall and skinny like Dad:)

4 Month Checkup

Brady had his 4 month check up yesterday and it went fabulous!! He is 14.5lbs and 25in. long. I totally thought he would weigh more but found out that he is right on schedule. I was looking forward to starting him on cereal but the doctor said I should wait at least another month to prevent allergies. So we will wait until next month and see how he does with it.

Yesterday was a great day to be a mom, except for the fact that Brady peed on me in the morning, because he was right on schedule for all of his naps and was such a happy baby. Which makes for a very happy mommy.

This month has been super busy with work and and Danny's work and next month will be even busier. The month of May is always a busy month for us for some reason. I work a lot in May because of vacations and such. I also am planning a baby shower for my friend and coworker Shannon. I hope weather holds up so that everyone can enjoy our backyard. I also have to trek up to Placerville at the end of the month for my brother's high school graduation. I can't believe this day has come so fast.

Anyway, I hope everyone's Easter was fab and that all is well for you and your family's. So far so good on our front. Happy Wednesday!!!

Cafe Mom and other things I can't live Without.

If your a mom you know how lost you can sometimes get. Most of us, at least I, winged my way through the first 3 months. I didn't know what the Hell I was doing!! Lol. Good thing there is somewhere I could go to for advice and occassionally to vent. That site is Cafe Mom. This website is awesome!! Basically it was created for moms by moms. I'm in a group of moms that had babies in December of 2009. Which means all of our babies are pretty much the same age.

You can ask questions and get advice from other moms out there. It's like having a pen pal from all over the country giving you advice on how to for example: get your baby to sleep through the night, or tips on what to give your baby if he/she is teething. Sometimes moms just go on their to vent for example: My son won't stop crying!!! or my husband is an IDIOT!!! You know, normal mom things like that.

This website is a god sent. I love going on there everyday to see what other moms are doing and get advice from those who have gone through the same things I have. I highly reccommend checking it out.

Another thing I can't live without, is the floor gym. The floor gym is awesome!! Brady will play under the floor gym for at least an hour so that I can eat, clean or just plain relax.

The final and most important thing I can't live without is....da, da, da.....the binky!!! All shining in its glorious light of loveliness!!! Now for those of you who are against the binky, I say to you, Shut the bleep up. It calms Brady down in seconds and if you aren't a mother, you have no idea what it means to have your baby crying, very loudly, in the middle of the night for no reason at all. I don't know why it calms him down, it just does, and I love it. And I'm pretty sure it loves me too:)

Introduction

Hello All!! So I'm starting this blog for a few reasons. One being, I need a hobbie other than being a mom to Mr. Brady, and two, so that I can share my experience as a first time mom. Hopefully it can bring some laughter and good reading material to my friends and family.

As most of you know by now, Brady was born on December 9, 2009. After a grueling 32 hour labor, Brady popped into this world as perfect as I imagined. Actually I thought he would be smushed and blue and covered in...well you know. Anyway, he actually came out pretty perfect.

Those first couple of months were tiring, but well worth the sleepless nights. I finally after two and half years of trying to conceive, had my bundle of joy.

For those of you who don't know, Danny and I sold our condo and moved to a bigger home in Soquel, which is south of Santa Cruz, but very close to Capitola. It was extremely stressful and exhausting, but thankfully we are settled and happy in our new home. I also started back to work 2-3 days a week and Brady goes to daycare while I am working. I was lucky enough to have Debbie reffered to me from my friend Shannon.

Debbie is absolutely wonderful and says Brady is a mellow boy. I said, trust me he has his moments.

For the most part Brady is very mellow. He loves to look around at what everyone is doing around him. He also loves to laugh at his Daddy. So do I!!

As for me, I am enjoying getting back to work and settling into a routine with my little man. Danny and I are still looking for some time alone together, but enjoy our time with Brady even more.

This weekend, my mom is kind enough to watch Brady for a few hours, so Danny and I can go out for a motorcycle ride. I'm hoping the weather is nice, but if not, at least we will have some us time. Okay well, until next time. I have tons to write about but will save that for the next posting. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
